Peter Halstead
Tippet Rise’s co-founder hails from New York, where he studied the piano and organ. As a pianist today, he is in the process of recording a six-volume series, for Albany Records, called Pianist Lost, in which he accompanies solo performances of a range of composers with his own essays on the music. More important, though, is his work as a philanthropist. With wife Cathy, he is a trustee of the Sidney E Frank Foundation which, as well as funding arts and education outreach programmes in Montana itself, has provided grants to musical projects, small and large, on both sides of the Atlantic.
