Conductor Nicholas Collon’s Aurora Orchestra is famous for playing from memory, which is just how they will perform Brahms’s First Symphony on Radio 3’s In Concert from Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on 12 June. And taking a cue from the symphony’s alphorn theme is Richard Ayres’s In the Alps (No. 42) which features soprano Mary Bevan.
