Edinburgh Festival

Radio 3 is at the renowned Edinburgh Festival again this summer, bringing you the best of the 71st season. Highlights include Nicola Benedetti in Vivaldi and Telemann violin concertos (7 Aug) and Ronald Brautigam’s recital of Mendelssoh­n and Chopin on fortepiano (13 Aug). 6-24 August, 11am-1pm

Eurovision Young Musicians

The brilliant biennial competitio­n returns as part of the Edinburgh Festival. Eighteen talented young musicians from member countries of the European Broadcasti­ng Union will compete for a place in the grand final. This year’s judges include conductor Marin Alsop and composer James Macmillan. 18-19, 24 August, various times

The Brandenbur­g Project

The Swedish Chamber Orchestra has commission­ed six leading composers to write partner works for each of Bach’s Brandenbur­g Concertos. With the line-up including pieces by Mark-anthony Turnage, Olga Neuwirth and Brett Dean, this should be a memorable occasion.
