Back from the brink

BBC Wildlife Magazine - - Chequered Skippers -

This ambitious project, made possible by £4.6 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, aims to save 20 species from extinction in England and benefit over 200 more through 19 projects across the country, from the tip of Cornwall to Northumberland. A host of conservation organisations are coming together with Natural England to help rescue everything from the willow tit, sand lizard and pasqueflower to rare invertebrates such as the chequered skipper, barberry carpet moth, ladybird spider, shrill carder bumblebee and violet click beetle.
