Big retail names set up shop in Banbridge and Bangor centres
CO DOWN discount shopping village, The Outlet, has welcomed three new retailers representing an investment of over £100,000.
The arrival of Procook, an English cookwear company, Klass, a ladieswear retailer and greeting cards specialist Card Centre has created 15 new jobs at the shopping destination.
Procook’s residency marks the first time the brand has set up shop on the island of Ireland. It already has 31 units in England.
It is hoped that the three new stores will further contribute to footfall at the centre, which The Outlet said had grown 18% since April 2016.
Chris Nelmes, centre manager at The Outlet, said: “The new stores will be a great addition for shoppers in the run-up to the busy Christmas shopping period and there will be plenty of offers across all stores.”
Meanwhile in Bangor, Bloomfield Shopping Centre has welcomed sportwear retailer JD Sports which will occupy a 3,600 sq ft unit at the entrance to the main mall next to the newly-opened Superdrug.
Andrew Knox, surveyor at Lisney Belfast — commercial property agents for centre owners — Ellandi said: “This deal adds to a number of recent lettings that Lisney has secured, including Next, Superdrug, Specsavers, Holland & Barratt and The Works, further enhancing the tenant portfolio at the centre.”
Bloomfield Shopping Centre and Retail Park is a 420,000 sq ft scheme on the A2 South Circular Road on the outskirts of Bangor. It is also home to Laura Ashley, DW Sports Home and Mcdonald’s.
