BELFAST’S famous Boat office building is now for sale with an asking price of £8.5m.

The building is home to a number of major tenants including The British Council, Bar Library Services and consultants Mott Mcdonald. The Boat hits the market following the sale of the nearby Obel 68 offices, as well as the disposal of the Metro building at Donegall Square.

Michael Hopkins, partner in selling agents Mckibbin Commercial, said: “We are expecting high levels of interest in The Boat, one of Belfast’s landmark buildings. We are confident this property will be well received in the market place after the successful transactions of Obel 68 and Metro Building, which both benefited from high levels of demand from investors.”

He said The Boat was built to an “extremely high standard” in a prime pitch overlooking the River Lagan.
