IF you fancy a taste of the good life you will find it all here and more in this quaint family home which is situated in spectacular grounds on the beautiful Ards peninsula.

It was originally an old stone farmhouse which has been extensively modernised and extended to create a charming rustic modern home.

While it ticks every box for style, space and beauty, outside is where you will be truly wooed by what is on offer.

Grow your own has been taken to a whole new level with a huge, well stocked vegetable and fruit patch, a 60ft greenhouse which grows flowers for the main house and a tree plantation which supplies wood for the many multi-fuel stoves inside the property.

There is also an extensive range of outbuildings including a huge games room with a multi-fuel stove and toilet facilities.

However, the real treat here is the massive lake complete with deck and pontoon for a rowing boat which offers a private idyllic spot for family picnics and entertaining.

In total there is seven acres of land including a three-acre field with a stable which is currently home to two donkeys.

The wonderful grounds are surrounded on all sides by open countryside and offer amazing views across Strangford Lough.

The house itself is very pretty and finished to a high standard throughout. It has been thoughtfully extended and designed in- side to reflect its rural setting but with enough modern touches and high end finishes to give it a luxury feel.

It offers extensive family accommodation with three reception rooms, four good sized bedrooms, a large country kitchen and walk in pantry, a family bathroom and shower room.

The large main hallway links the old cottage with the new extension with doors opening to both the front and back.

The lounge is a show stopper and perfectly captures the beautiful rural feel with a pitched roof, original old natural stone walls, an Oregon pine floor and a beautiful bespoke stone fireplace with cast iron multi-fuel stove. One wall features a series of windows and there are glass doors opening to an outside walled dining area with views over Strangford Lough and the front garden.

The kitchen is another huge and beautiful space also reflecting the cottage style of the original property with ceiling beams and a large Aga range cooker with wooden beam mantle, feature plate racks and display cabinets.

Off the kitchen is a superb walk-in pantry fitted with units and has space for a fridge freezer.

From the kitchen you enter a quaint family room with corniced ceiling and a feature fireplace with another multi-fuel stove with wood beam mantle.

The period detail continues in the dining room which is a bright space with a red brick fireplace and wood beam mantle and more cornicing. Also on the extensive ground floor is a lovely bedroom, shower room and a utility.

Even the family bathroom is delightful with a white suite, painted timber panelled bath and beamed ceiling.

Outside this property is spectacular. The front garden features a large fish pond and a paved patio area with electric sockets for your outdoor entertaining. There are lots of trees and mature plants and the whole feeling is of seclusion and rural bliss.

The stone built garage can easily hold six cars and you also have no end of storage with two workshops, an office, potting shed and that huge games room.

The courtyard sits between the farmhouse and the stone outbuildings and offers extensive parking. Beyond it is a cottage garden with flower beds, a vegetable garden, large barn, chicken house, orchard and 60ft greenhouse. As well as an array of vegetables and fruit, there is a plantation of Eucalyptus trees which are harvested for the three multi-fuel stoves.

The lake and gardens extend to around an acre. The lake attracts an array of local wildlife including herons, mallards, swans and cormorants.
