POSH NEW APART­MENTS FOR BELFAST

APART­MENT liv­ing is to rise to a whole new level of lux­ury in North­ern Ire­land with the launch of a unique new scheme in Belfast city cen­tre.

The Matic, which has just been un­veiled by Vil­lage Homes, will of­fer for the first time a 24 hour concierge ser­vice as well as a pri­vate 22 me­tre swimming pool and gym­na­sium for res­i­dents.

Vil­lage Homes will cre­ate an iconic new 12 storey Matic build­ing which will fea­ture 75 apart­ments, four of which will be plush pent­houses.

Sit­u­ated on Chich­ester Street and Glouces­ter Street, the £13m scheme will have a unique de­sign with two tow­ers joined by a cen­tral pri­vate res­i­dents’ gar­den.

The build­ing is named af­ter John Dun­lop, an in­ven­tor who lived in Belfast and who patented the pneu­matic tyre in 1887.

Dun­lop was also a ve­teri­nar­ian who set up a prac­tice on Glouces­ter Street where he was work­ing at the same time.

The Matic is the first of four premier city cen­tre res­i­den­tial schemes planned by Vil­lage Homes (NI) Ltd which to­gether will pro­vide over 275 new city res­i­dences at a to­tal value of over £35m.

The three fur­ther city schemes will be lo­cated at Queen’s Square, the for­mer Nam­bar­rie build­ing at the cor­ner of Vic­to­ria Street/ War­ing Street, and Mont­gomery Street.

Speak­ing about the Matic, Alan Fraser of Vil­lage Homes (NI) Ltd said: “We’re very proud to be bring­ing an apart­ment scheme of this stan­dard to Belfast. The Matic is on a par with some of the finest city res­i­den­tial schemes in Europe; the de­sign is both mod­ern and clas­sic with nat­u­ral stone brick and glaz­ing giv­ing an ul­tra-con­tem­po­rary look and feel.”

Si­mon Brien Res­i­den­tial, who is han­dling the sale of the new com­plex, says: “Con­fi­dence across the hous­ing mar­ket is grow­ing and Belfast is in­creas­ingly be­com­ing one of the most at­trac­tive and vi­brant cities in the UK to live and work.

“Along with re­cent ac­co­lades such as be­ing named the best UK city at the Guardian and Ob­server Travel Awards, com­bined with the trend of ur­ban liv­ing con­tin­u­ing, the tim­ing of the launch of The Matic could not be bet­ter.

“We an­tic­i­pate ex­cep­tional de­mand from both pri­vate in­di­vid­u­als look­ing for a pres­ti­gious city res­i­dence not pre­vi­ously avail­able in North­ern Ire­land as well as in­vestors.”

The first apart­ments will be re­leased on May 26 with a choice of one, two and three bed­rooms.

Work on the construction will start in early sum­mer with the build­ing com­plete by the end of next year.

The de­vel­op­ers de­scribe the ar­chi­tec­ture of the build­ing as “mod­ern, clas­sic and de­tailed” and it will in­cor­po­rate nat­u­ral stone and brick with seam­less glaz­ing.

At ground level the build­ing will wel­come with a dra­matic floor to ceil­ing glazed en­trance which will lead into a lux­u­ri­ous lobby in­spired by five star ho­tels.

Res­i­dents will en­joy the con­ve­nience and lux­ury of hav­ing a 24 hour pro­fes­sional concierge fa­cil­i­ties for the first time in Belfast.

The build­ing will also have se­cure un­der­ground park­ing with charg­ers for elec­tric cars and a store for bi­cy­cles.

The res­i­dents’ gar­den will be po­si­tioned above the fitness suite be­tween the two build­ings and will of­fer a quiet and pri­vate oa­sis away from the hus­tle and bus­tle of the city.

The apart­ments will each have a high end fin­ish through­out with con­tem­po­rary de­signer kitchens and bath­rooms, high qual­ity floor­ing and in­te­grated light­ing.

The bath­rooms will have a five star ho­tel ap­peal with drench shower heads, anti-steam mir­rors, be­spoke van­ity units, chrome towel rails and branded san­i­tary­ware.

Bed­rooms will have sleek fit­ted wardrobes and the apart­ments will be painted and have en­gi­neered wood floor­ing in the hall­ways and re­cep­tion rooms, with tiling in the kitchen and bath­rooms and car­pet in the bed­rooms.

Re­cep­tion rooms will fea­ture dra­matic floor to ceil­ing win­dows and slid­ing doors to bal­conies.

Each apart­ment will also be fit­ted with smart multi-room wiring, se­cure video in­ter­coms linked to the concierge, and mains sup­ply smoke and carbon monox­ide de­tec­tors with bat­tery backup.

Cen­tral heat­ing will be Phoenix Nat­u­ral Gas with the op­tion to con­trol it re­motely from your smart­phone.

The apart­ments have been de­signed to be energy ef­fi­cient with high lev­els of ther­mal in­su­la­tion.
