THE Subaru Forester has been recognised in an independent poll by 50,000 UK car drivers and placed firmly in the Top 10 cars to own in the annual Driver Power survey.

The Forester was also on the podium winning a medal in the Off ROAD/SUV category in the same highly influential survey.

Brian Walters, director, Research and Insights at Driver Power commented: “In 2016, the Subaru Forester Mk4 performed brilliantly, improving in six of the 10 Driver Power judging categories. Owners of the Forester rate it highly for its reliability, practicality, ease of driving, and build quality.”

The Driver Power study is voted for exclusively by car owners in the UK, with 49,702 respondents taking part. All cars are rated across 10 judging categories, with drivers rating 183 models across 32 vehicle manufacturers. It is widely recognised as an independent and influential survey given that the only opinions used are from actual UK vehicle buyers — the ultimate real-world test.

“We’re thrilled that our customers are so pleased with their Foresters they have voted for it in an independent survey, again,” said Neville Matthews, Subaru NI managing director.

“Nothing beats customer satis- faction, it’s our number one asset. It’s a fact that Subaru owners keep their vehicles for 10 years plus, and then choose another Subaru. Nine out of 10 Subarus built in the last 10 years are still on the UK’S roads, and in service daily off-road too. They tend to pass through the family, so when mum and dad renew, the children benefit from the old Subaru. It’s customer loyalty taken to the extreme — and we’re delighted.”

The Forester is the Japanese manufacturer’s best-selling model in the UK, thanks to its versatile character, supreme capability on and off-road, build quality, and comfort. Every Forester is equipped with Subaru’s famed Symmetrical All-wheel Drive system contributing to the car’s low centre of gravity, beneficial to balance, road holding and handling. The Forester is fitted with a range of highly efficient ‘Boxer’ petrol and diesel four-cylinder engines in the UK and comes with a five-year/100,000-mile warranty as standard.

For 2016, the Forester range has received a range of updates, including an upgraded interior, revised exterior styling, improved refinement, ride and handling, and new technologies to improve comfort and convenience.

The Forester retains all its class and good looks on the outside, but is a noticeably smoother and quieter vehicle to drive and now benefits from Subaru’s state of the art Starlink “infotainment system”.

The upgraded 2016 Forester is now on sale from Subaru’s dealer network in Northern Ireland, Western Cars Enniskillen, Eastwood Motors Lisburn and Gormley Motors Dungannon. Prices start from a very competitive £25,495 (on-the-road) delivered to NI and ready to go. Subaru on the road prices include PDI, plates, delivery and road tax, and there are currently a range of finance offers including 0% finance on the Forester range with a manufacturer deposit contribution.

As well as being in the top 10 cars the 2016 Forester also won a medal in the Off ROAD/SUV category in the annual Driver Power survey
