A MILLIONAIRE’S HOME IN LISBURN

Belfast Telegraph - Propertynews - - Front Page -

THE stuff of dreams, this sumptuous modern home has to be one of Northern Ireland’s finest.

It is not just a home but a lifestyle that you will be buying with Legacurry Mill which comes with three separate bespoke properties, a supercar garage, a spa, swimming pool, cinema, games room and cocktail bar.

The sprawling site with its own river meandering through it features three separate buildings each with luxury accommodation.

It has taken seven years to build this one-off home which is owned by Bangor sausage manufacturer Kevin Mcwhinney.

The sprawling 11,000sq ft properties which features 10 bedrooms, seven reception rooms and six bathrooms offers high spec living with underfloor heating, air conditioning and smart wiring.

Even the furniture in the bedrooms is bespoke, designed especially for the property.

The house is nestled in an acre of immaculate landscaped gardens tended to by a gardener and with the River Ravarnet running through it.

Mr Mcwhinney who is the 5th generation of his family to run Mcwhinneys sausage company in Bangor, designed the home as three separate properties to accommodate his mum, son as well as him and his wife.

He says: “It’s not just a house but a way of life. If somebody was going to buy it just coming and having a look is not enough. They would need to sit in the bar and relax and have a swim in the pool at night and see the life that is on offer, it’s much more than bricks and mortar.”

This incredible pile starts with the main house, Legacurry Mill which has five en suite bedrooms and four fantastic reception areas.

Separate to this is the equally spectacular Legacurry House with three bedrooms, two of which are en suite and two large reception areas overlooking Ravarnet River.

Legacurry Cottage completes the lot and is styled as an annex perfect for a granny flat/teenagers annex or for your very one live-in

housekeeper.

The main house is accessed from a front courtyard and features spacious and bright formal and informal entertaining areas, private living quarters and open dining rooms designed to flow to outdoor patios.

Its five bedrooms all feature handmade designer furniture and three have en suite shower rooms. The other two have access to a large family bathroom with waterproof TV.

The four enormous bright reception rooms are air conditioned.

There is a large drawing room with open fire and crescent window overlooking the river.

The state-of-the-art kitchen is bespoke by Robinsons with Calacada marble and ceramic work tops and a range of Gaggenau appliances, plus twin island units.

There is another spacious living room which opens to a sun terrace with sunken hot tub and a dining room with integrated wine racks and doors opening to a rear courtyard.

Another lounge leads to the fully equipped cocktail bar which is the perfect entertaining space or you can relax in the cinema room which has a big screen projector.

The spa is another decadent space with sauna, changing rooms and wet room shower which in turn leads into an indoor swimming pool with tidal swimming jet.

The property is wired with Cat 7 cabling which distributes audio visual throughout the home. It has wired and wireless capabilities. Most of the downstairs rooms have underfloor heating.

Legacurry House sits separately on the plot and is another stunner with the same high spec.

Through the large entrance foyer is an air conditioned open plan living/kitchen/dining room built over the River with gorgeous views.

On the lower ground floor there are air conditioned master king size and queen size bedrooms, both with bespoke wardrobes and en suite shower rooms.

There is also a study with built in furniture including a fold down bed.

A lower ground floor has a large hallway with a sitting area and a built in library wall.

Off this is a full bathroom with free standing bath, waterproof TV and oversized wet room.

This property also has a large utility/drying room and a games room with a full size snooker table, American pool table and a bespoke sit up bar, kitchenette and WC.

The third building, Legacurry Cottage is designed like an annex with a large air conditioned living room, full kitchen and utility, one bedroom with a walk in dressing room and a luxury shower room.

In the back courtyard there is a further detached building with sliding glass doors which is being used to house supercars although it is built and insulated to house standards and could be used for any number of purposes.

There is a separate entrance and stairway up to a large office with luxury bookcases, filing cabinets, oak flooring, fully wired for TV, internet and telephone and a separate storage unit.

As you would expect the beautiful grounds which extend to an acre have been professionally landscaped and are tended by a gardener.

There is ample parking and turning areas in both front and back courtyards and both have electronic gates.

The lawns roll towards the river and have barbeque areas and a raised terrace with hot tub accessed via entertaining areas of the main home and the spa.

This private rural site is only five minutes drive from Lisburn city centre and the M1 Motorway network.
