Teenager held over raids on 15 lor­ries and six premises

A TEENAGER is be­ing ques­tioned over a spate of bur­glar­ies at homes and busi­nesses in east Belfast.

Some 15 lor­ries were bro­ken into on Wed­nes­day night while a num­ber of iPads, mo­bile phones and other valu­ables were taken from homes.

De­tec­tives are in­ter­view­ing the 18-year-old man fol­low­ing six bur­glar­ies and at­tempted bur­glar­ies which were re­ported in streets in the vicin­ity of Castlereagh Road. De­tec­tive Sergeant Kelly said: “One lo­cal busi­ness re­ported that 15 lor­ries had been bro­ken into and elec­tronic equip­ment taken from each.

“House­hold­ers also re­ported games con­soles, iPads, mo­bile phones and other valu­ables miss­ing. A num­ber of items of prop­erty have been re­cov­ered.

“A num­ber of stolen items may have been dis­carded. If any­one re­cov­ers elec­tronic or per­sonal items they are urged to con­tact po­lice.”
