Charity plea over shortfall in volunteers

Belfast Telegraph - - NEWS - BY STAFF REPORTER

A CHARITY has warned it urgently needs up to 250 volunteers to help with street collections and bag packs in the run-up to Christmas.

Cancer Focus Northern Ireland said it was under “serious pressure” and urged people to spare a few hours.

Volunteer co-ordinator Morag Chambers explained: “Many business and organisations are willing to let us hold collections and events on their premises, but we just don’t have enough volunteers to do the work. We are under serious pressure.”

Anyone who wishes to help can contact the charity on 9066 3281 or at moragchambers@cancerfo to choose a date and venue.
