NORTHERN Ireland’s biggest family-owned car dealer, Donnelly Group, is set to build a new £6m Jaguar Land Rover showroom.

The showroom will be based next to the firm’s flagship site in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. Donnelly Group has been selling Land Rover vehicles since 1981, but is acquiring a Jaguar franchise for the first time.

The company has eight sites around Northern Ireland.

Terence and Raymond Donnelly run the business, which was founded by their father, Peter.

The brothers said: “It is especially fitting that work on this exciting new Jaguar Land Rover showroom will commence this year as we celebrate our 70th anniversary.”

In accounts for last year, group company Donnelly Bros Garages (Dungannon) reported a 12% increase in turnover to £277m and pre-tax profits of £1.9m.
