Belfast food safety company is named best new start-up
A FOOD safety firm that aims to protect the agrifood supply chain has been named best new-start company in a competition run by InterTradeIreland.
Belfast-based Xenobics Ltd took home a prize of €20,000 as part of its victory in cross-border trade body Seedcorn’s investor readiness competition. Pharmaceutical firm Phion Therapeutics, also based in Belfast, was named best early-stage company in the competition, also winning a prize of €20,000, while Gray’s Clip in Lisburn won a special award of €10,000 for its participation in a support programme.
The winning companies will compete in an all-island final in Dublin next Wednesday.
