A Co Londonderry housing development by Hagan Homes has been shortlisted for the Best Starter Home award at the WhatHouse? Awards in London on Friday. Jamesy Hagan, managing director of Hagan Homes, said the firm was “thrilled” to be shortlisted. Hagan Homes is building 26 new homes and completing 14 others at The Salmon Leap in Coleraine. From left, Trevor Kennedy, director of construction at Hagan Homes, Brendan Mallon, managing director at Nollam Contracts — the main contractor for Salmon Leap — and Jim Burke, director of sales and acquisitions at Hagan Homes. The Salmon Leap was best known as a bar and restaurant until it closed down in 2006. The land was to be turned into housing by Pat Devine Homes, but the company stopped work on the site during the property crash, leaving it a so-called ghost estate.
