In 1866 The Hamp­stead Foot­ball club wanted to re­name but keep their ini­tials HFC. They flicked through a dic­tionary and came across the word “Har­lequin”. Thus, Har­lequins RFC was born! But half the club weren’t happy with this and split away form­ing their own club. Guess what they called their new club? Wasps RFC!!
