Stop bleating about Wills on the ‘piste’ and give him a break

-

‘Oh, dear, Prince William’s in the doghouse after he missed the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey last Monday because he was on a skiing holiday.

Said doghouse, though, is not the one belonging to his grandma or his wife, but the one created by the public and the media. I’m not sure why, because Wills didn’t need to attend, as the Queen is still the head of the Commonwealth and was there, as was his father, Prince Charles.

People can’t wait to have a go, bleating on about him being on the “piste” with “models”, and reminding us all that he’s “only” done 17 appearances this year. The complainers – who always feel it necessary to point out – compare this to Her Maj, who’s done 24 so far and is 90 years old. But she’s our head of state, so why shouldn’t she be busier? William still has a proper job, too, as an air ambulance pilot, but obviously that doesn’t count.

I’m sticking up for him because he’s the best thing to happen to this country in a while (apart from Brexit), along with his marriage to the lovely Kate and the birth of their two adorable children.

He deserves to let his hair (what’s left of it) down now and again because when he does become King, he’s going to have to work his knackers off, probably for at least 60 years, given his family’s longevity. So let’s give the boy a break, shall we?’
