Svelte Natalie Cassidy doesn’t look like a woman who gave birth seven months ago…
Strutting down the red carpet with an air of supreme confidence at the recent TRIC [Television And Radio Industries Club] Awards in London, actress Natalie Cassidy unveiled her dramatic new look. The epitome of style and glamour, Natalie, 33, was barely recognisable – nothing like EastEnders’ frumpy Sonia Fowler, a role she reprised in 2014 after a sevenyear break. Rocking a 60s-style orange mini dress and black boots at the TRICs, and completing her retro look with black eyeliner, pale lips, a box-clutch bag and a bit of a beehive, Natalie also looked incredibly trim, with not an inch of stubborn baby weight in sight.
The 5ft 4in star was unrecognisable compared to last September, when she was seen out and about not long after giving birth to her little girl, Joanie, on 29 August.
Joanie is Natalie’s first child with her fiancé, cameraman Marc Humphreys, who she has dated since 2014 and got engaged to in 2015.
Dietitian Helen Bond agrees the transformation is impressive, telling best, ‘I would estimate that Natalie’s weight has dropped from a size 14-16, 12st (BMI 28) to 9-9 ½ st (BMI 22), dress size 10-12.’
And Natalie, also mum to Eliza, six, with ex-boyfriend Adam Cottrell, did it all in just six months. While most new mums are still struggling with night-feeds and nappies, it’s clear Natalie’s worked extremely hard to get in such good shape, so quickly.
As anyone who has had kids will know, the more you have, the harder it is to bounce back! Whatever the mum-of-two has done, it’s worked a treat.
Natalie has had her weight battles before. She said previously, ‘I have been every shape, from a big 16 to a size 6, and I’ve really struggled with my weight over the years. Although criticism has sometimes been hard, it has also been self-inflicted, as I have chosen to lose and gain at an abnormal rate in the past.’
Let’s hope the svelte star is able to maintain her gorgeous new figure. It’s no wonder she appears to love all the attention on her right now…
