Grandchildren chat is driving me bonkers
Since friends of mine became grandmothers, it’s all we’ve spoken about! I understand they’re proud and want to show pictures, but it’s beginning to grate on me that we never talk about other aspects of our lives – nor do they ask anything about mine, as I don’t yet have grandchildren. Would it be insensitive of me to mention it?
Having 10 grandchildren of my own, I know we sometimes can’t stop talking about them. Why don’t you try having a few other topics up your sleeve, so that after a few ‘aahs’, you can subtly change the subject!
