She’s already pretty formidable, but Sharon Osbourne is committed to being ‘tougher this year’, confessing she’s had her fill of ‘extreme characters’.

And contestants that can sing, but are lacking in personality, had better watch out! The 64-year-old explained, ‘How can I invest in you when you’re just standing there like a lump of ice? It’s like watching paint dry. You can give people the benefit of the doubt once because they’re nervous. But not a second time? Nope.’ She added that it’s Simon that everyone wants to impress the most. ‘They sing to Simon and talk to him. You end up thinking, “Oh, alright, I’ll go and have a cup of tea, shall I?!”’

Not that it bothers the outspoken star – who says you can’t please everyone in life. ‘There are always going to be people who don’t like you. You have to accept that. If people write nasty things about me, and I don’t know them or respect them, it means nothing.

‘I say, there will always be trolls out there who want to hurt you. Block! See ya!’

Wise words, Mrs O.
