NAUGHTY

Most of us know that chocolate is bad for dogs, but the toxic dose for cats is actually far lower. At worst, it can be lethal and, at best, it can upset the stomach.

Raw meats, raw eggs and fish often contain bacteria which can cause poisoning.

It might be tempting to give pets cooked bones to crunch on during the festive feast, but they’re one of the items that can do most harm, as cooked bones are generally more brittle than raw, so are more likely to splinter in the mouth or stomach. NICE

Dog’s dietary needs have remained virtually unchanged since their time in the wild, so beef, chicken, turkey and plain pork are all likely to cheer up your canine. You can also add veggies such as carrots, peas, broccoli and leafy greens.
