My daughter’s too thin
I’m very worried about my daughter. She’s got a new boyfriend and, since she met him, she’s become extremely thin. I’m convinced he’s encouraging her not to eat. When they’re at my house, he makes snide remarks if she has so much as a tiny biscuit. She’s smitten with him, so I don’t know how to broach this without upsetting her. Aisling, Coventry I can understand your worries, but I think, as her mother, you have to confront your daughter about this. Try not to blame the new boyfriend – that never goes down well. But do tell her your concerns about how thin she’s got, and you might discover that all she needed to open up was for you to ask her about the situation.
