By Ryan Ashall

Everything but the paint by Ryan. OK he’s a fitter/welder by trade in Leyland, Lancs so he’s handy with a TIG torch, but it’s the lines of this cobby 1978 triple that make it work so well. ‘I wanted it to look as though Yamaha had done it,’ says Ryan. And for a total of £2400 (including £550 for the bike) this is a strong result. R1 calipers, FZR600 forks, XJR1300 shocks, it’s all pretty much repurposed Yamaha except the top yoke. ‘I got a compass out, made a template, put it on an alloy block and just shaped and drilled it,’ says Ryan. The whole deal works nicely as you like. He’s nailed it.
