INSIDE A PORTUGUESE MEET
The quirky two-stroke tiddlers made by Portugal’s native bike industry are museum pieces now, but the locals are happy to show them off
Sunshine, quiet roads, curious folk and fabulous smoky two-wheeled rarities. Just a regular evening in the Algarve.
SMOKIN’ OUTTA QUERENCA
The sweet smell of burnt two-stroke fills the air as the (very) loosely termed Querenca Moto Club – basically an impromptu gathering of anyone with a bike in the Eastern Algarve – heads out into the wilds. And it is wild inland from Portugal’s holiday hotspots. This stretch pictured is a virtual motorway.
