GRID REF: ST116410 HOW TO GET THERE: West Quan­tox­head vil­lage cen­tre is on the south side of the A39, 16 miles west of Bridg­wa­ter. Turn into the vil­lage and at the Sta­ple Cross junc­tion turn up Hill Lane. The lane reaches a cat­tle grid; con­tinue on the dirt track, pass­ing park­ing ar­eas, to reach the car park with benches below the Na­tional Trust’s Bea­con Hill WHERE TO PARK: Na­tional Trust car park at Bea­con Hill TER­RAIN: Moor­land tracks and paths, with some longish as­cents AC­CES­SI­BIL­ITY: Al­ways open FA­CIL­I­TIES: None en route but good pic­nic spots.
