This magic-looking bird was a dream for many of us growing up, endlessly flicking through bird books. But it was a dream that was largely out of reach, as the stately Spoonbill was a pretty scarce passage visitor. These days, things have changed, radically. Spoonbills are back breeding in Norfolk, and flocks 20-strong can be seen at several sites. The only problem is that now, birdwatchers realise that Spoonbills spend a lot of time asleep. When feeding, or seen as well as this bird, though, they are outstanding!
