Bird Watching (UK) - - 30 Years Of Birdwatching -

The rise and rise of the Mediterranean Gull has been almost as amazing as that of the Little Egret, though less well known. Thirty years ago there were a maximum of about 10 pairs in the UK, at south coast sites. By the late 1990s there were more than 50 pairs at 24 or so sites. Now we have more than 600 breeding pairs and three times that number wintering. Incredible.
