PEREGRINE

Bird Watching (UK) - - 30 Years Of Birdwatching -

In 1986, the Peregrine’s steady recovery from its 1960s low point was already well underway, and it has continued until the present day, with at least 1,500 breeding pairs now found in the UK. More importantly, it’s become much more visible – the need to find new nest sites and territories has seen it spread beyond its former coastal and mountain strongholds, into quarries, power stations, football stadiums, office blocks and churches. What was once a bird of the wildest parts of the UK has become a regular city sighting.
