ALPINE ACCENTOR

Bird Watching (UK) - - Welcome -

With only 36 accepted British records, this mountain equivalent of the Dunnock is rare, but it has become particularly rare in recent years, with only five records this Millennium. The last was a very brief single-observer record at Holme Bird Observatory, Norfolk, on 26 April 2014, and the previous record, also in Norfolk, at Overstrand a decade earlier. Roughly a fifth of all British records have been in April, and more than a quarter in May. So, now is as a good a time as any to be searching for our next twitchable bird.
