Woodland species, with soaring raptors beyond the canopy

Bird Watching (UK) - - Go Birding -

ALOVELY SHORT WALK through mixed coniferous and broad-leafed plantation to Signal Rock; reputed to be a gathering place for the Macdonalds of Glencoe at times of trouble. This area was once a Forestry Commission wood and is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland. The former conifer woodland is slowly being replaced by more native species, but trees like the big Beech found here are sadly not included for the future. Large examples of Douglas Fir and Western Red Cedar
