The feeding station near the visitor centre attracts Willow Tit, Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Reed Bunting and the occasional Brambling.
1The marsh holds Shoveler, Gadwall, Teal, Water Rail and wintering Snipe and Jack Snipe (the latter are difficult to see). Reed, Sedge, Garden Warblers, Whitethroat and Blackcap breed.
2The islands attract breeding Little Ringed Plover, Lapwing, Oystercatcher and Common Terns, with passage migrants such as White and Yellow Wagtails, Meadow Pipits and Wheatear.
3Forge Mill Lake attracts breeding Great Crested and Little Grebes while in winter Goosander are the star attraction being joined by Wigeon, Pochard, Shoveler, Gadwall, Teal and one or two Goldeneye and occasionally Pintail. Scarcer ducks have included Smew, Velvet Scoter and Long-tailed Duck.
4Hedgerows and woodland hold breeding Lesser Whitethroat, Garden and Willow Warblers, Bullfinch, Great Spotted and Green Woodpeckers and Willow Tit.
