1Driving along the A897 north towards the reserve check Loch an Ruathair for feeding divers, waders and duck.
2Check the open ground for breeding waders. Scan the area and listen for calls and watch for display.
3The visitor centre is found at the north platform of the railway station and is open from April to October. A live CCTV footage of breeding Hen Harriers can be found inside as well as walk details. Try the Dubh Lochan Trail which is easily accessed from the visitor centre and is a great way of seeing some amazing bog pools up close. A ‘Flows Observatory’ (viewing tower) is being built on the trail which will enhance the potential of viewing more birds.
45Try the Forsinain Trail, a four-mile self-guided walk located a 10-minute drive north of the visitor centre at Forsinard. While enjoying the walk, look out for harriers and Merlin.
