From late morn­ing scan the skies to the south-east for soar­ing rap­tors over the dis­tant wood­land. Com­mon Buz­zard, Spar­rowhawk, Hobby and Kestrel should be a given, plus an out­side chance of Goshawk, Red Kite or even Honey Buz­zard. Swifts and hirundines feed on in­sects ris­ing off the canopy.

1Gorse scrub holds the likes of Dart­ford War­bler, Com­mon and Lesser Whitethroats, Gar­den War­bler, Lin­net, Stonechat, Long-tailed Tit and also Yel­lowham­mer.
