Bird Watching (UK) - - Go Birding -

1Check along the brook for Grey Wagtail and birds coming down to drink in hot weather. The mixed woodland should attract a wide range of resident species and their young such as Great Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Treecreeper and Jay, plus migrants.

2From the vantage point scan across the canopy for feeding Swifts and hirundines and gulls drifting over. Raptors are often noted from here.

3Scattered heather and scrub should deliver the more obvious Tree Pipit, Wood Lark, Stonechat and maybe a migrant Whinchat or Wheatear, while skulking warblers such as Dartford and Whitethroat may be more tricky.

Conifer plantations are favoured by the likes of Goldcrest, Firecrest, Coal Tit, Siskin and potentially Crossbill.
