HIGH­LIGHTS: Black Terns were at Brownsea (2nd), Christchurch Harbour, Lod­moor and West Bex­ing­ton. A Serin was at Port­land Bill (6th). A White Stork was at Cow­ards Marsh (8th) and Sands­foot Cas­tle (9th). A Great White Egret was at Cow­ards Marsh (8th). A Tur­tle Dove was at Hengist­bury Head (9th). Port­land Bill recorded Melo­di­ous War­bler (16th). A Green­ish War­bler was at the Ob­ser­va­tory (22nd) and a Hoopoe (24th). Wry­necks were at Sher­ford Pools, West Bex­ing­ton (two), Durl­ston CP, Mor­den Bog, Port­land and Christchurch (from 19th). St. Ald­helm’s Head logged a site record 294 Balearic Shear­wa­ters (20th), when 532 passed Port­land Bill. Lytch­ett Fields held a site record 1,031 Black-tailed God­wits (21st). Or­tolan Buntings were at Hengist­bury Head (25th) and Port­land (27th-29th). Goosander and Red-backed Shrike were at Christchurch Harbour (26th). An Aquatic War­bler was at Lytch­ett Fields and a Mon­tagu’s Har­rier over Cog­den Beach (31st). CHRISTCHURCH HARBOUR: Waders in­cluded San­der­ling, Ringed Plovers, Black-tailed God­wits, Knot, Whim­brels, Dun­lin, Snipe and Common Sand­pipers. Also recorded were Lit­tle, Common and Sand­wich Terns, Pied and Spot­ted Fly­catch­ers, Tree Pip­its, Red­starts, Grasshop­per and Wil­low War­blers, Whitethroats and Yel­low Wag­tails. THE FLEET: Lit­tle, Common and Sand­wich Terns, Med Gulls, Yel­low-legged Gull, San­der­ling, Knot, Curlew Sand­piper, Lit­tle Stint, Whim­brel and Wheatear were noted. POOLE HARBOUR: Teal, Avo­cets, Spoon­bills, Ringed Plovers, Knot, Green­shanks, Spot­ted Red­shanks, Curlew Sand­pipers, Ruff, Wood Sand­piper, Lit­tle Stints, Lap­wings, Dun­lin, Green and Common Sand­pipers, Roseate Tern, Pere­grine, Bearded Tits, Gar­den, Wil­low and Sedge War­blers, Black­caps, Marsh Tit and Firecrests were seen. PORT­LAND BILL: Birds pass­ing in­cluded Manx Shear­wa­ters, Sooty Shear­wa­ter, Storm Pe­trels, Yel­low-legged Gulls and Great Skua. A White Wag­tail and Cuckoo were noted. Wey­mouth Bay held Arc­tic Skuas. Radipole Lake had a Gar­ganey and Ruff. Lod­moor logged Curlew Sand­pipers, a Lit­tle Ringed Plover, and Green and Common Sand­pipers. OTHER SITES: Ospreys were at 12 lo­ca­tions and Hob­bies four. Mer­lins were at Hart­land Moor and Lytch­ett Fields. A Red Kite was at Bur­ton Brad­stock. Whin­chats were at four sites.
