HIGH­LIGHTS:

An adult Lesser Yel­lowlegs briefly at Blith­field Reser­voir (20th) was the star. A Great White Egret flew west over Trent Vale, Stoke on Trent (3rd), and one was seen briefly in flight at Mid­dle­ton Lakes RSPB (16th). The lat­ter had two Gar­ganey, with three (26th), a Wood Sand­piper with two at times, a ju­ve­nile Spot­ted Red­shank (16th-20th), and Curlew Sand­piper. A Black-necked Grebe was at Bel­vide Reser­voir late in the month. Black Terns in­cluded five at Blith­field Reser­voir (28th). Ospreys were at Blith­field (two, 14th, with one to 17th, an­other, 24th, then an­other, 30th), Aqualate Park (15th), Bel­vide Reser­voir (21st), and Gai­ley Reser­voirs (28th). An adult Gan­net was at Bel­vide Reser­voir (21st).
