HIGHLIGHTS:

An adult Lesser Yellowlegs briefly at Blithfield Reservoir (20th) was the star. A Great White Egret flew west over Trent Vale, Stoke on Trent (3rd), and one was seen briefly in flight at Middleton Lakes RSPB (16th). The latter had two Garganey, with three (26th), a Wood Sandpiper with two at times, a juvenile Spotted Redshank (16th-20th), and Curlew Sandpiper. A Black-necked Grebe was at Belvide Reservoir late in the month. Black Terns included five at Blithfield Reservoir (28th). Ospreys were at Blithfield (two, 14th, with one to 17th, another, 24th, then another, 30th), Aqualate Park (15th), Belvide Reservoir (21st), and Gailey Reservoirs (28th). An adult Gannet was at Belvide Reservoir (21st).
