Foundations laid to help declining Swift population

A new ‘Swift brick’ designed by Manthorpe building products in association with Barratt Homes and the RSPB aims to provide an ideal home for Britain’s declining Swift population. Swift numbers have declined severely over recent years, in part due to lack of nesting sites. The first bricks are being used at a Barratt Homes’ development, near Aylesbury, where 180 of 500 houses will be fitted with the bricks.
