Redwing

Our smallest thrush, it has a creamy stripe above the eye, and red flanks, distinguishing it from the superficially similar Song Thrush. Flocks arrive from Scandinavia in October, often alongside the much larger Fieldfare, and they feed in fields and hedgerows, occasionally visiting gardens when it gets colder.
