PEREGRINE RESEARCH

Bird Watching (UK) - - News Wire -

Peregrines may be using artificial light to hunt by, according to a study by Nottingham Trent University. The team studied three Peregrine nesting sites, including the University’s own Newton Building nest, and observed the falcons bringing food to the nest in the hours of darkness. The prey was mainly small to medium sized birds, and the team is unsure whether these were hunted at night, or brought from a ‘larder’ that had been stocked earlier.
