WHERE TO WATCH?
A secretive and skulking bird, you’re more likely to hear it first as it bursts into its powerful and distinctive song. Your first sighting may be of a dark and stocky warbler with short wings and a full, rounded tail as it dives for cover. It favours damp areas , which are close to wetlands. RSPB reserves where you can look for it are: Radipole Lake and Lodmoor in Dorset, Exminster Marshes in Devon, Marazion Marsh in Cornwall and also Strumpshaw Fen, Norfolk.
