1 There is a small car park overlooking a scrape and wader roost. Best watched with a scope. 2 Main car park and visitor centre found just inside the gate of North Plain Farm. Walk along the path, past ‘cropping’, looking out for finches and sparrows. 3 A third of the way down is a set of screens overlooking a set of pools. Several ducks use these along with mixed breeding waders. A second small screen shows where Little Grebes breed. 4 The hide has a south-facing view over wet grassland and winter water as well as Bowness Common. Another area of cropping is found to the far left where birds of prey often hunt. Rogersceugh Farm is seen in the distance. 5 A circular walk now takes you back to the car park – so keep looking out for the birds.
