KEY POINTS

Bird Watching (UK) - - Go Birding -

1 Check Eymore Wood for Great Spotted and Green Woodpeckers, Siskin, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and Garden Warblers. Lesser Redpoll, Crossbill and Woodcock all occur, while there are also Redlegged Partridge in the area. 2 The small sediment pool holds Tufted Duck, Mallard, Coot and, occasionally, Mandarin Duck and Kingfisher. Keep an eye on the skies for the elusive Goshawk, particularly if visiting in late winter/early spring. 3 The larger reservoir attracts Goosander, Great Crested Grebe, Cormorant, Canada Goose, Grey and Pied Wagtails. Waders are scarce, apart from passage Common Sandpiper. Common and Arctic Terns visit from time to time. The shoreline looks a good bet for Rock Pipits during migration, so keep a look out! 4 Along the River Severn again look out for Mandarin, Goosander, Grey Heron and Marsh Tit, while Lesser Spotted Woodpecker has also been seen.
