2 TAWNY OWL
London after dark is often considered to be the domain of the Fox (or the late night party-goer) but there are birds here, too. Listen out at dusk in Wimbledon Common or Richmond Park and you may be lucky enough to hear the hoot of a Tawny Owl. This species even resides in some inner city parks, a tribute to the availability of small mammals and other prey. A pair regularly nest in Kensington Gardens and have developed quite a fan club.
