HIGHLIGHTS: A Manx Shearwater found in Wendover Woods was taken into care (4th). A Leach’s Petrel was at Calvert Lakes (28th). Great White Egrets were at Manor Farm (6th-20th), Shabbington (1st) and Wooburn Green (20th). A dark-bellied Brent Goose was at Little Marlow GP (18th). A Honey Buzzard flew over Steps Hill (8th). Wrynecks were in Granborough (14th, dead) and Old Amersham (14th)
CALVERT LAKES: A Bittern (19th-29th) and an Osprey (6th) were noted.
IVINGHOE HILLS: A Knot and a flock of 16 Black-tailed Godwits flew over (30th). Tree Pipits were logged on four dates. Maxima were five Redstarts (13th), nine Whinchats (8th & 13th) and six Stonechats (23rd). There was a Grasshopper Warbler (13th).
LITTLE MARLOW GP: Waders included a Ruff (15th), Jack Snipe (23rd) and Greenshank (2nd). There were two Mediterranean Gulls (19th) and up to three Yellow-legged Gulls. Last month’s Black Tern remained (to 7th). A Redstart was seen (6th).
LODGE HILL: There were two Redstarts (1st and 6th), six Whinchats (5th), three Stonechats (28th), a Grasshopper Warbler (1st), Firecrest (25th) and 42 Corn Buntings (2nd).
MANOR FARM: A Ruff (2nd), three Greenshanks (17th) and a Yellow-legged Gull (7th and 11th) were noted.
QUAINTON HILLS: There were 10 Redstarts (3rd), five Whinchats (18th) and a Stonechat (18th).
OTHER SITES: A Garganey was at Willen Lakes (9th). Ospreys flew over Denham (6th), College Lake (18th) and Hazlemere (25th). A Greenshank was at Dorney Lake (5th). Tree Pipits flew over Bledlow Ridge (14th) and Buckingham (12th). Whinchats peaked at five at Aylesbury STW (9th). Adam Bassett (www.bucksbirdclub.co.uk)
