HIGHLIGHTS: Honey Buzzards were recorded at Banstead (6th) and Beddington SF (17th). Beddington also had a Sabine’s Gull (13th). A Pectoral Sandpiper was seen at Tice’s Meadow, Farnham (8th). A Blyth’s Reed Warbler was seen at Lonsdale Road Reservoir (9th-10th). Ospreys were recorded at Leith Hill, Thorncombe Street and over Godalming High Street (21st).
LONDON WETLAND CENTRE: A Short-eared Owl (7th) and Marsh Harrier (19th) were over Barn Elms Playing Fields. Other highlights included Dunlin, Greenshank, Grey Plover, Grey Wagtail, Pintail, Spotted Flycatcher, Wheatear, Whinchat and Yellow Wagtail.
STAINES RESERVOIRS: A Great Skua circled Staines Reservoir (10th). Other records included Arctic Tern, Black Tern, Black-necked Grebe, Common Scoter, Little Gull, Pintail, Sandwich Tern, Wheatear, Whimbrel and Yellow Wagtail.
OTHER SURREY WATERWAYS: Beddington SF had a Kittiwake (15th), Avocet, Caspian Gull, Jack Snipe, Sandwich Tern, Wheatear, Whinchat and Yellow Wagtail. A Black Tern was at Hedgecourt Lake (3rd-4th). Another split its time between Tice’s Meadow and Badshot Lea Ponds, Farnham (1st-4th).
OTHER SITES: There were 25 Bar-tailed Godwit over Chipstead Downs (10th). Staines Moor had four Whinchats and 15 Yellow Wagtails (14th). A Grasshopper Warbler was with Yellow Wagtails and a Redstart at Richmond Park (5th), with a Cuckoo there (8th). Peter Bryant
