Bird Watching (UK) - - Uk Bird Sightings -

HIGH­LIGHTS: Honey Buz­zards were recorded at Banstead (6th) and Bed­ding­ton SF (17th). Bed­ding­ton also had a Sabine’s Gull (13th). A Pec­toral Sand­piper was seen at Tice’s Meadow, Farn­ham (8th). A Blyth’s Reed War­bler was seen at Lons­dale Road Reser­voir (9th-10th). Ospreys were recorded at Leith Hill, Thorn­combe Street and over Go­dalm­ing High Street (21st).

LONDON WET­LAND CEN­TRE: A Short-eared Owl (7th) and Marsh Har­rier (19th) were over Barn Elms Play­ing Fields. Other high­lights in­cluded Dun­lin, Green­shank, Grey Plover, Grey Wag­tail, Pin­tail, Spot­ted Fly­catcher, Wheatear, Whin­chat and Yel­low Wag­tail.

STAINES RESER­VOIRS: A Great Skua cir­cled Staines Reser­voir (10th). Other records in­cluded Arc­tic Tern, Black Tern, Black-necked Grebe, Com­mon Scoter, Lit­tle Gull, Pin­tail, Sand­wich Tern, Wheatear, Whim­brel and Yel­low Wag­tail.

OTHER SUR­REY WATER­WAYS: Bed­ding­ton SF had a Kit­ti­wake (15th), Avo­cet, Caspian Gull, Jack Snipe, Sand­wich Tern, Wheatear, Whin­chat and Yel­low Wag­tail. A Black Tern was at Hedge­court Lake (3rd-4th). An­other split its time be­tween Tice’s Meadow and Bad­shot Lea Ponds, Farn­ham (1st-4th).

OTHER SITES: There were 25 Bar-tailed God­wit over Chip­stead Downs (10th). Staines Moor had four Whin­chats and 15 Yel­low Wag­tails (14th). A Grasshop­per War­bler was with Yel­low Wag­tails and a Red­start at Rich­mond Park (5th), with a Cuckoo there (8th). Peter Bryant
