EAST SUSSEX: A brown morph Red-footed Booby was washed ashore at St Leonard on Sea (4th), and was taken into RSPCA care. It was planned to fly the bird to Florida. Possible Pallid Harriers were reported from Beachy Head (18th) and Pett Level (24th). Wrynecks were recorded at Sheepcote Valley (1st), Shooters Bottom (1st-7th), Beachy Head (11th), Hastings CP (18th) and Cuckmere Haven (20th). Honey Buzzards were reported from Beachy Head (4th, 12th, 17th & 21st), Hove (6th), and Weir Wood Reservoir (19th & 21st). An Ortolan Bunting flew west at Seaford (6th). A first-winter Red-backed Shrike was at Tide Mills (21st-30th). A Barred Warbler was briefly recorded at Bishopstone (23rd). Two Glossy Ibises were seen at Rye Harbour NR (18th).
WEST SUSSEX: A Glossy Ibis was at Sidlesham Ferry (1st). A juvenile Pallid Harrier Storrington and The Burgh (13th-15th). An Ortolan Bunting was at Kithurst Hill (2nd-3rd). Wrynecks were at Church Norton, Climping, Pagham Harbour and Selsey Bill. A juvenile Red-necked Phalarope was recorded at Thorney Island (5th-17th). A Honey Buzzard was at Pagham Harbour LNR (8th). A Pectoral Sandpiper was at Shripney (8th-10th). A Red-backed Shrike was at Pagham Harbour LNR (15th).
