OT­MOOR: A Great Skua (15th) was the first record for the re­serve. The Pur­ple Heron re­mained through­out. An Osprey fished (13th). Wader to­tals in­cluded 150 Lap­wings, 98 Snipe, two Com­mon Sand­pipers, four Green­shanks, two Red­shanks, a Ringed Plover, Grey Plover and Ruff. The first four Golden Plovers re­turned (15th). Four of the re­cent group of Man­darins stayed to mid-month. The first Pin­tail was seen (11th), in­creas­ing to five (21st). Three Marsh Har­ri­ers were seen reg­u­larly. A ring­tail har­rier species flew through (14th). An early Mer­lin was also present (28th). Other birds in­cluded 50 Yel­low Wag­tails, Red­starts, Whin­chats, Stonechats, a Lit­tle Egret, Bit­tern and Hob­bies. Fer­gus Mosey (Fer­gus.mosey@rspb.org.uk)
