HIGH­LIGHTS: An ‘Azorean’ Yel­low-legged Gull was at Stan­wick GP (2nd and 9th), with a Shag there (4th). Two Pied Fly­catch­ers were in Northamp­ton at Dalling­ton al­lot­ments, with an­other at Brad­laugh Fields (7th). Black-necked Grebes were at Earls Bar­ton GP (15th-18th) and at Daven­try CP (from 28th). The lat­ter hosted a Glossy Ibis (28th), only the fourth county record. Two Great White Egrets were at Pits­ford Reser­voir, with sin­gles at Hol­low­ell, Raven­sthorpe and Stan­ford reser­voirs, Earls Bar­ton and Deene Lake.

BODDINGTON RESER­VOIR: A Grey Plover stayed for nearly two weeks. There was a Wood Sand­piper, Red­shank, Dun­lin, Com­mon Sand­piper, 24 fly-through Bar-tailed God­wits, four Caspian Gulls, two Mediter­ranean Gulls, two Yel­low-legged Gulls and six Black Terns.

CLIF­FORD HILL GP: There was an Osprey, Peregrine, Red­start, two Wheatears, three Whin­chats, four Dun­lin, three Ringed Plovers and a Com­mon Sand­piper.

DAVEN­TRY: Seven Turn­stones flew over. There was a Black-tailed God­wit, Ruff, four Green and three Com­mon Sand­pipers, a Curlew Sand­piper, Gar­ganey, Pin­tail, two Caspian, two Yel­low-legged and two Mediter­ranean Gulls, an Osprey, Peregrine and two Hob­bies.

EARLS BAR­TON: There was a Bit­tern, Marsh Har­rier, Peregrine, two Hob­bies, a Gar­ganey, six Black-tailed God­wits, a Grey Plover, three Green­shanks, two Green and three Com­mon Sand­pipers, two Ringed Plovers, a Lit­tle Ringed Plover, a few Snipe and a Wheatear.

HAR­RING­TON AIR­FIELD: A Mer­lin, Marsh Har­rier, Peregrine and two Red­starts all vis­ited dur­ing the month.

HOL­LOW­ELL: There was a Com­mon Scoter, two Gar­ganeys, a Red-crested Pochard, Lit­tle Stint, Ruff, five Ringed Plovers, three Dun­lin, three Com­mon Sand­pipers, a Whin­chat, Hobby, Yel­low-legged Gull, and a Com­mon Tern.

NASEBY RESER­VOIR: A Spot­ted Red­shank, four Green and two Com­mon Sand­pipers, a Caspian Gull and Mediter­ranean Gull were the pick. PITS­FORD RESER­VOIR: High­lights in­cluded Ospreys, a Marsh Har­rier, two Hob­bies, 18 Pin­tails, six Red-crested Pochards, two Caspian, one Mediter­ranean, six Yel­low-legged and a Lit­tle Gull, two Ruff, eight Ringed Plovers, three Green and two Com­mon Sand­pipers, a White Wag­tail, Whin­chat and Wheatear.

STAN­WICK: A Sand­wich Tern, Turn­stone, Hobby, Pin­tail and four Caspian Gulls were seen.

OTHER SITES: In the Bramp­ton Val­ley, Marsh Har­ri­ers were seen twice. A Peregrine and two Red­starts were near Hang­ing Houghton. Blue­berry Farm logged six Whin­chats, three Stonechats, a Red­start, Wheatear and Tree Pipit. Raven­sthorpe Reser­voir had a Knot and Red-crested Pochard. Ditch­ford GP hosted 20 Black-tailed God­wits and an Osprey. Five fur­ther Ospreys were noted. Whin­chats in­cluded three at Sy­well CP. Four Red­starts were at Fawsley, one at Twywell, with two near Wal­grave along with both Whin­chat and Wheatear. A Cross­bill was in a Welling­bor­ough gar­den. Two Red­starts were ringed at Stan­ford where there were two Red-crested Pochards. A Tree Pipit was near Daven­try. Three Green Sand­pipers were at Deene Lake. Bob Bul­lock (01604 627 262)
