BRANDON MARSH: Little Egret and Mandarin were of note early in the month.
Waders included good numbers of Snipe, Green Sandpiper, Ruff, Greenshank and Common Sandpiper. DRAYCOTE WATER: Best birds of the month included Black-tailed Godwit, Ringed Plover, Yellow-legged Gull, Raven, Hobby, Spotted Flycatcher and Wheatear (all 3rd), Shag (to 5th), good numbers of Little Egrets, three Greenshanks (13th), Little Stint (14th), Dunlin, two Sandwich Terns (16th), juvenile Black-necked Grebe and Knot (18th), drake Common Scoter (20th-23rd), and Common Sandpipers throughout.
OTHER SITES: A Great White Egret was around Alvecote Pools throughout the month. A juvenile Hjoney Buzzard was over Morton Bagot (18th). A Manx Shearwater was found in a Dunchurch garden (6th) and taken into care. A Black Tern was at Earlswood Lakes (8th), and two were at Shustoke Reservoir (12th). A juvenile Little Gull was at Shustoke Reservoir (11th-12th).
