BRAN­DON MARSH: Lit­tle Egret and Man­darin were of note early in the month.

Waders in­cluded good num­bers of Snipe, Green Sand­piper, Ruff, Green­shank and Com­mon Sand­piper. DRAYCOTE WATER: Best birds of the month in­cluded Black-tailed God­wit, Ringed Plover, Yel­low-legged Gull, Raven, Hobby, Spot­ted Fly­catcher and Wheatear (all 3rd), Shag (to 5th), good num­bers of Lit­tle Egrets, three Green­shanks (13th), Lit­tle Stint (14th), Dun­lin, two Sand­wich Terns (16th), ju­ve­nile Black-necked Grebe and Knot (18th), drake Com­mon Scoter (20th-23rd), and Com­mon Sand­pipers through­out.

OTHER SITES: A Great White Egret was around Alve­cote Pools through­out the month. A ju­ve­nile Hjoney Buz­zard was over Mor­ton Bagot (18th). A Manx Shear­wa­ter was found in a Dunchurch gar­den (6th) and taken into care. A Black Tern was at Earlswood Lakes (8th), and two were at Shus­toke Reser­voir (12th). A ju­ve­nile Lit­tle Gull was at Shus­toke Reser­voir (11th-12th).
