BARTLEY RESERVOIR: There was a Caspian Gull, Yellow-legged Gulls and a Common Sandpiper. CLAYHANGER MARSH: Barn Owls, Little Owls, Hobbies and Willow Tits were all seen.
LUTLEY: Eight Golden Plovers flew over. A Wigeon was a site first. Migrants during the course of the month included Tree Pipit, Whinchat, Stonechat and Wheatear. MARSH LANE: Two Ospreys were noted. A Spotted Redshank paused briefly. A Mandarin joined incoming Wigeon. Two Hobbies, a Peregrine and Red Kite flew over. A Little Owl was logged.
SANDWELL VALLEY: There was a Red Kite, Marsh Harrier, Osprey and 14 Goosanders. Whinchat, Redstart and Spotted Flycatchers were logged. A Cetti’s Warbler, Willow Tit and Pintail were around Forge Mill Lake. Fifty Ring-necked Parakeets roosted. STUBBERS GREEN: There was a Little Egret, Black Tern, Yellow-legged Gull, Dunlin and Redstart.
OTHER SITES: There was a Tree Pipit, Yellow Wagtail, Wheatear and Tawny Owl at Barr Beacon. Stonechats were on Rowley Hill together with passage Redstart, Tree Pipit and Spotted Flycatcher. Pete Hackett (0121 358 2454)
